Dancers Daria Kaufman, Bianca Brzezinski, and musician/composer Richard Warp present an evening of original dance theater and live music. ARTI ULATE had its highly praised San Francisco premiere at NOHspace's Sound is the Movement Series in February. Incorporating improvisation and interactive sound technology, the dancers interact through movement, speech, and text, while musician/composer Richard Warp acts as accompaniment and intruder, amplifying and underscoring their coupled dynamic. Through highly articulate dancing, deconstructed speech, and striking, electronic sound, all three performers engage in a fractured dialogue, breaking boundaries between disciplines in an effort to reach a new form of language.

Bianca Brzezinski's solo, Non-self (from the Buddhist term 'annata'), refers to the notion of not-self. Exploring consciousness, it is a work about death and our state of impermanence. When looking at death as a transformation, we can begin to sense our lives as a form of consciousness that dwells within all beings - a non-self that dies every second, that is present, that is nature itself embodied, consciously renewing itself. Richard Warp accompanies her on piano.
